Team Expansion - Taipei, Taiwan
Missionaries and Forwarding Agents:
Information:
Scott and Angie Pagel are Team Expansion missionaries in Taipei, Taiwan. We moved from Joplin to Taiwan in July 1999,
Family
Scott & Angie have 4 children. Bethanie (1996), Zachary (1998), Joshua (2002), and Mollie (2005). One of the primary ways we can minister to people is through modeling a healthy Christian family. Most Taiwanese Christians are not from Christian homes and they are eager to observe Christian parenting techniques and learn of how we often plead for the Lord's help and search the scriptures as we also learn to be better parents.
Previous Work
The national language in Taiwan is Mandarin Chinese. We spent the better part of our first two years attending language school and involving ourselves in other cultural acquisition activities. At the end of our "formal" language training, we were able to enter into a new phase of ministry, primarily helping in various ways with the Taiwan Christian Church, a local Mandarin speaking congregation established by missionaries in 1994. We are excited about the future of this cell-based church as it begins to serve the role of a "mother church" in the suburbs of Taipei. As we seek God's direction for the future, we take confidence in His faithfulness...as evidenced in the spiritual and numerical growth of the Taiwan Christian Church.
Future Dreams
With the missionaries' role decreasing in the Taiwan Christian Church, our mission team is eager to look at the next phase of cooperation with local churches and other existing ministries. With the goal of establishing a "national indigenous church planting movement", we envision an expansion of our team's ministry into several new areas and some established areas as well. Personally, we believe the coming months and years will see us involved in two primary areas of ministry...
Resources - a bookstore, bilingual church planting websites, leadership training
Mobilization working with local churches to find and meet spiritual needs among Chinese speaking people worldwide
Thank You!
We are always grateful for Christ's Church and the various types of support we have received from all of you. Please know that your involvement with our ministry has made an eternal difference in the lives of many people in Taiwan...and beyond! We look forward to our continued partnership as we all work together to accomplish God's mission in the world!
