Information:

Rodney and Linda Peterson live and work in the city of Toluca which is located about an hour and a half west of Mexico City at an elevation of 9,000 feet. It is a state capitol and university city of approximately 800,000 people. They have been in Mexico since 1980 and moved to Toluca after working in Mexico City for twelve years.

Rodney is currently co-pastoring a church there which they founded with the team efforts of another missionary family. He mentors the young national pastor and is involved withteaching, leadership training, home groups, counseling, youth, and evangelism. Linda works with the women of the church and in the area of worship.

Rodney is also involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. The church has an outreach in two different centers once a month as well as having a support group that meets weekly at the church building.

They have always had a heart for youth and feel blessed to have been involved in the Christian Youth Conference since its beginning. It is the Mexican version of the Christ in Youth Conference and Rodney is one of the CIY representatives in Mexico. He has directed the conferences and been in charge of the “School of Youth Ministry” which is offered for adults during the youth class sessions. Our prayer is that the conference will expand to other areas of the country to change the lives of more of Mexico’s youth and continue to train leaders.

Training youth leaders is one of our primary goals. For the last couple of years, Rodney has been leading weekend retreats for youth who are leaders or potential leaders in their youth groups. The retreats have been a blessing to all the youth who have attended.

One of the evangelism methods we use is the Bible correspondence courses produced by the ChristianCommunicationCenter in Mexico City.We have offered this course through newspaper ads, flyers and community publications.
