Information:
Kritsana was born to Chinese parents who fled to Burma during the 1950's when China fell to communism. The family later settled in Thailand where Kritsana met and married Jenn Swe Yung from a Chinese noble family. After 8 years of marriage and the birth of 3 sons, her husband was murdered. After 4 months following her husband's death she gave her life to the Christ who she had learned about from an aunt when she was a child.
Then in August of 1986, with the help of a missionary and a good friend, she and her children were able to come to America to study. Not long after they arrived she enrolled in Ozark Christian College. God, in miraculous ways provided for them during the time she was there.
After graduating from OCC they returned to Thailand where she was able to share the love of Christ in hospitals, in homes for young women who had escaped prostitution and in orphanages. She was especially burdened by the plight of children in Mea-aw, a village near the border of Burma.
Kritsana is now living in Mae Hong Son, where she is housing and educating 24 young people from Mea-aw in a place she calls "Eden". Most of these young people have become Christians, and help a great deal in her outreach to the poor in Mea-aw. Several of her "children" have moved into other areas of ministry as well. Four girls who graduated in 2004 are now in college at Chiangmai, where they are having Bible studies with the youth in that area.
The young people in Eden are being taught Bible each day (5;30 AM). They each have their own chores, as they raise their own chickens and fish. They eat about 120 pounds of rice each week! Their fruit trees provide for them and allow them to sell some fruit as well. They are also being taught Chinese and English by Kritsana. The Chinese are now building businesses in Thailand, so these language skills will be a great advantage. The girls learn to sew and the boys help to repair things. They recently purchased 3 computers to enable the young people to keep up with school teaching. Since 2001 when Kritsana began the work at Eden, they have added rooms onto the original house, built a building for the boys, a study center, more bathrooms, and a chicken house. They have planted more fruit trees, added garden space, and done yard work.
Kritsana travels to Mea-aw weekly where she is Principal and owner of a school. She holds VBS there each year with help of her students. She started a Chinese language school there, and hired a Christian teacher who uses the Bible to teach. Parents are VERY THANKFUL for this opportunity. Most worship ancestors or evil spirits, but are not against their children being taught Christianity. They make their living by picking tea leaves 7 days each week, dawn to dusk, with the women carrying their babies on their backs. She hopes to open a nursery soon so she can reach these mothers with the Word.
Kritsana also drives each week to Nai Soi, where she started a church in 2004. About 50 people from that area attend there each week where she teaches and preaches.
Kritsana also helps in the church in Chaingmai whenever she is able to be there.
